A bank vault can be rented by an individual alone or jointly with one or more other individuals, HUF, companies, limited companies, associates, companies, trusts, etc.

When opening the locker, you may be asked to submit basic documents such as:

  • KYC documents
  • Passport size photo
  • Checking or savings account details
  • Security deposit
  • Record agreement (stamp duty payable according to the respective state)

How to add or edit a candidate to your locker in HDFC Bank

Individuals can opt for an appointment facility for a safe deposit box in HDFC Bank. Up to two candidates can be selected for lockers held in common name. Locker owners can provide locker access warrants in the same way deposit account holders can

To change or add the appointment, one can download the forms or visit the branch complete the required application and submit it to your locker branch only.

  • To add a nomination: Form SL1 (sole tenant)/SL1A (co-tenant)
  • To cancel an appointment: Form SL2
  • To change an appointment: Form SL3 (sole tenant)/SL3A (joint tenant)

When there is no nomination

In the absence of a nomination or mandate to dispose of the contents of the locker, the Bank returns the contents of the locker to the rightful claimants against compensation in the same way as the deposit accounts to alleviate the suffering of ordinary people.

Locker rental
